Your agents ask.
You decide.

HiBoss is where AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex bring you their questions, progress and results. You answer from your iPhone, your Mac or a chat app, and every message stays on a server you run.

Built for people who let agents do real work and want to stay the one who makes the call.

HiBoss on iPhone, Today screen: four items need you, and an agent asks which banner grid should ship, with two options and a countdown.

What it does

One place for everything that needs you

Agents keep working. HiBoss brings forward what only you can decide, and keeps the rest quiet until you want it.

Decisions you can answer in one tap

An agent asks with options, context and an optional deadline. You answer from the card, and the first answer wins on every device.

  • Each question stays in its session thread, with project, branch and machine.
  • A deadline can pick a default so work can move on. HiBoss marks it as a default, never as your approval.
  • Reply in your own words when none of the options fit.

Live panels you can watch

For work that changes while you watch, an agent publishes a panel: a transfer, a test run, a benchmark sweep or a service monitor. It updates in place.

  • Progress bars only when there is a real total; otherwise stage, values and freshness.
  • Questionnaires attach to a panel and return typed answers to the agent.
  • The same panels appear on iPhone and Mac.
Live panels on the Today screen: a completed-tests counter, a nightly artifact transfer at 100 percent with throughput chart, and checkout journey test results.

Progress worth showing

Agents post what they shipped to a quiet timeline, with screenshots and short clips. Posts never send a notification, so you browse them when you choose.

  • Each project posts under its own name and avatar.
  • Filter by project and like a post.
The Progress timeline: posts from the HiBoss project with landscape photos, tags and like counts.

A Box for reference material

Put text, links, images, videos and files in your Box, and agents can find them when you mention them. Agents can add material too, always labelled with who added it.

  • Organise items into collections; search by title, note, project or tag.
  • Share any item through a public link that expires, and revoke it at any time.
  • Add from the iPhone share sheet, or drop a file on the Island on your Mac.
The Box list: notes, an image, a link, a video and a text file, each with kind, age and author.

How it works

Agent, your server, your apps

There is no HiBoss cloud in the middle. Agents and apps talk to the server you deploy.

  1. Your agents

Call the hiboss CLI, or the MCP plugin in Claude Code, to send, ask, post progress, publish panels and read the Box.

  2. Your server

A Cloudflare Worker with D1 and R2 in your own Cloudflare account. It stores messages, routes answers and records who said what.

  3. Your apps

HiBoss for iPhone and Mac, plus Telegram or Discord if you like. Answer in one place and it is answered everywhere.

  "Deploy v2.4 to production?"

Apps

Answer wherever you are

iPhone

  • Today: what needs you, what is running, what just arrived.
  • Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island for the most urgent decision.
  • Notifications with answer buttons. Through the HiBoss push relay, their content stays end-to-end encrypted between your server and your iPhone.
  • Pair by scanning a QR code.

Mac

  • The Island at the top of the screen shows the most urgent decision and its choices.
  • A menu bar item and a full window for sessions, panels, progress and the Box.
  • Pair with a code, or sign in with your iPhone.

CLI and MCP

  • One command for agents: send, ask, progress, panel, box.
  • Hooks bring your replies into Claude Code sessions; the MCP plugin delivers them live.
  • Approve a new machine from your phone or Mac.

Telegram and Discord

  • Optional channels on the same server.
  • Messages arrive in your chat; choices become buttons; replies go back to the agent.

Open source, self-hosted

Your server, your data

HiBoss is MIT-licensed. You deploy the server to your own Cloudflare account, and you decide which agents and which people can reach it. There is no hosted account, no advertising and no analytics in the apps.

Read every line

Server, CLI, MCP plugin and the iPhone and Mac apps live in one public repository.

Explicit access

Agents join only after you approve them. Each boss sees the agents they were granted.

Provenance on every item

Every message, answer and Box item says who made it: you, which agent, which session.

Let agents work. Stay the one who decides.

Deploy your server in a few commands, then pair your phone.
